LifeCare Consulting and Counselling services in Brisbane

LifeCare is a private counselling practice established in Brisbane by QCA Fellow, Susan De Campo. Over the years it has grown to encompass a ‘well-being’ network of social science and health care professionals dedicated to assisting clients with the myriad of issues affecting them professionally, socially and privately in their personal lives. Our network encompasses professionals from a broad variety of disciplines and focus areas.

We provide professional counselling support and a range of counselling and related services to adults, young people, children and their families. All of the staff at LifeCare are highly trained and qualified professionals who hold current affiliation with their relevant professional accreditation authorities.

Meet the Director of LifeCare Consultancy, Susan De Campo

Founding Board Member: The Association of Therapeutic Family Law Professionals (TFLP)

Susan is the Director and founder of LifeCare Consultancy. With almost thirty years’ experience in private practice as a Registered Clinical Counsellor she has developed expertise in a variety of areas including working with children, young people and families, loss and grief, and post-separation parenting dynamics. This extensive clinical experience informs her work, for the past twenty years, as a sessional academic at several Queensland universities.

As an ethics panel member and accredited supervisor with PACFA Susan provides professional supervision to practitioners in private practice and employed by larger organisations. She is passionate about this work and also enjoys mentoring other supervisors.

Susan is currently completing a Professional Doctorate exploring reunification therapy in the Australian Family Law. Her future publication will identify factors influencing outcomes.

Meet the General Manager of LifeCare Consultancy, Amelia De Campo

BSW MHSc MAASW ACCSA (Affiliate Member)

Amelia De Campo is a specialist social worker with over 15 years clinical experience as both a Supervisor and Manager of LifeCare’s Children’s Contact Service (CCS). Since Amelia’s time as manager of LifeCare CCS, it has grown to be the largest private service provider in Queensland.

Amelia is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and holds a Master of Health Science, specialising in alcohol and other drugs (AOD). She has expertise in report writing, case management, complex assessment and treatment planning. Additionally, she has worked closely with the Australian Children’s Contact Association (ACCSA) implementing and regularly reviewing policies, procedures and training that represent her commitment to the highest industry standards.

She has presented at numerous family law and supervised contact conferences with her experience and expertise in this field leading to being invited to contribute to Attorney General’s Department Advisory Board for the establishment of Accreditation in the supervised contact sector.

In 2024, Amelia was promoted to General Manager of LifeCare Consultancy. Amelia ensures the smooth running of all service offerings at LifeCare, additionally conducting training and ongoing peer/clinical supervision for the CCS team and supporting the CCS Manager as required.

Meet the Practice Manager of LifeCare Consultancy, Susan Potter

As LifeCare’s Practice Manager, Susan brings a wealth of experience, skills and professionalism to the day-to-day operation of LifeCare.

Susan has been LifeCare Director, Susan De Campo’s, right-hand woman for close to 20 years, assisting and supporting both professionally and personally by managing varying and complex client scheduling, ensuring commitments are met and responsibilities are attended to, additionally responding efficiently to legal matters.

Furthermore, Susan has not only undertaken all of the administrative duties associated with operating a small business, but has a strong ability to manage, attending to financial-related obligations and assists other practitioners who utilise LifeCare’s therapy rooms.

She works closely alongside LifeCare’s Children’s Contact Service (CCS) Management team to ensure they are adequately supported through managing subpoenas, assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures, and responding to frequent, and often complex, enquiries that come through via clients and legal practitioners alike. Additionally, as a mother of three children, Susan offers considered and empathic support for people accessing LifeCare’s CCS.

Susan’s substantial experience and dedication to LifeCare highlights the strengths she brings to the team, which are appreciated by practitioners and clients at LifeCare. Her high-level of competence combined with her positive attitude make her an invaluable team member at LifeCare Consultancy.

Meet the Manager of LifeCare's Children Contact Service, Annabel Reess

BSc(Psych) ACCSA (Affiliate Member)

Annabel commenced working as a Supervisor within the Children’s Contact Service (CCS) in 2019. Her natural leadership skills and capabilities, work ethos and commitment to ensuring a quality service provision, resulted in a role progression to Assistant Manager in 2020. Following three intensive years of clinical and managerial work, Annabel was promoted to her current title as Manager of the CCS team.

Prior to working at LifeCare, Annabel’s work experience spans over a 25-year period. Her Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology, complimented various roles in the Education, Welfare and Child Safety sector in the UK, NSW and Qld. In addition to her professional experience, being a parent herself has contributed to Annabel’s high emotional literacy and empathic understanding when managing complex matters and individuals requiring additional support in difficult circumstances.

As Manager of the CCS team, Annabel’s role involves conducting intake interviews, assessing suitability for services, responding to clients’ needs and requests within the Service, writing observational summary reports for family court matters, scheduling and coordination of supervisors within the team and providing critical incident support as required.

Annabel values the ongoing development of her clinical knowledge and skillset through the continued facilitation of supervised contact visits and changeovers.
